New signage is planned to erected around the estate and elsewhere this year and the first of these has just been put into place. Thanks to Graphite Signs and Calum D Carmichael, our donation box at the end of the moor road now has a permanent display and instructions.
Following work on the moor at Druim a’ Channaich, an area of ground has had to be fenced off due to the depth of peat found, and the unstable nature of the disturbed peat surface. This is in order to keep people and livestock safe.
This area is approximately 200m to the north east of the moor cattle grid.
In addition to the fencing, warning signs have been put in place, and we would ask that everyone does keep away while the ground dries out.
Work on the new Playpark for the two villages is nearing completion, with the final elements in relation to signage, safety matting, grass seeding and so on currently being undertaken.
A formal opening day event is now planned for the 1st of September, which will include fun and entertainment for all ages and the whole community, including a barbeque, bouncy castle and more.
Given the effort being put in to getting both the park and the launch, Keose Glebe Estate have decided not to run its own ‘community day’ this summer, but will instead assist with, and contribute to, the Community Association event.
A great deal of local volunteer effort has gone in to getting the park up and running, and this will be a fantastic resource for the children in the community.
Given the number of people and visitors using the moor road, and taking walks on the moor, we have been regularly asked if there is a way to make donations to the Estate for upkeep, maintenance and other purposes.
To that end, we have purchased and installed a donation box at the beginning of the moor road |(left hand side)
Please point all donors in that direction! All donations are now welcome!
