This meeting will take place at the Meeting Place, Keose on Friday the 2nd of February at 7pm.
As well as the formal business, there will be an opportunity to hear about the latest developments on the Community Park, together with plans for fundraising and other future events.
Refreshments will also be served.
It is hoped that there will be a good turnout from both villages.

When people now come to visit the renovated Castle in Stornoway, and admire both it and the extensive woodland that surrounds it, they will no doubt not be aware of where Sir James Matheson really wanted to build his Lewis home and base. Obviously he was struck by the superior views he found elsewhere!
Apparently local Church records show that when Sir James bought the island of Lewis at the end of 1843, he had a very strong desire to build his castle on the Keose Glebe. Continue reading “Finding The Lost Glebe 5 – The Castle and the Glebe”

Following the initial clean-up and scrub clearance by village volunteers, and then the cleaning of the drains by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, it is now great to see the drains full of winter snow and rain!
Hopefully, now that this water has somewhere to go, we will have much drier crofts and parks, and there will be less water getting on to the roads themselves.
There are lots more drains to fix and bring back into use, and hopefully some more of these will be tackled in the year ahead.
Thank you again to the volunteers involved, and to CnES for their work.
